Bar 25 Reincarnated: Summer 2011
It broke hearts across Berlin when it closed, now we’ll see if it can un-break them in a few months. Whether it’s capable of that remains to be seen and scene, but we can at least be assured that summer can’t be far if Bar 25 is finally showing signs of reincarnation. The scene of so many wonderfully compromising antics will open in May or June of 2011 with a new name, probably somewhere along the Spree. Retaining this location is especially auspicious, for Bar 25 would not be the same without people attempting to enter by boat, or occasionally just falling into the water.
Berlin’s secret party website Rest Realitaet already has threads devoted to the beloved party ground, which are sure to multiply in number in the next few months, and give rise to counter ‘anti-Bar 25′ threads, made by all of those who are bound to grow sick of the constant chatter over the club. Indeed, Bar 25 is probably the most beloved and hated item to ever be discussed on the website.
Meanwhile the Bar 25 Restaurant has already begun serving guests again. However the multi-course dinner is too expensive for most parties, costing 45 euros for every person, with many former partiers feeling like that is an excuse for the management to earn a great deal of money off the name and sacred memories. What will the new Bar 25 be called and why change the name of something beloved just as it was? It is rumored the management will be new which could explain wanting to change it, although that just is not really a sufficient excuse for that.
As of now there is a photo exhibition of Bar 25 pictures made my Carolin Saage. The reality of the party was and hopefully will be again, far better than a picture could show, but until then that is all we have, along with a little pre-afterglow.
