Long-term planning for a site from 2012 onwards: in view of the expansion that will result in the creation of a major airport, the BBI, from 2012 onwards the ILA will need to relocate to a new site. An area in the Selchow district, to the south west of the BBI, is being developed for this purpose.
All the partners in this project – the state authorities of Berlin and Brandenburg, the airport operators, the German Aerospace Industries Association BDLI and Messe Berlin GmbH – have agreed to this move.
Now it is important to clarify various issues as quickly as possible, including questions about financing, potential investors and the year-round operation of the exhibition area that will be created, before a final decision can be made about the long-term location for the ILA after 2010.
ILA 2010 will take place from 8 to 13 June. The first three days of the show (8 to 10 June) are reserved exclusively for trade visitors. The ISC at the ILA will only be open on these three days.
