‘S.A.T.’ the Berlin holding company of Berlin based airline ‘Germania’ has confirmed its previously announced Memorandum of Understanding and signed a contract for five Airbus A319s.
Germania will start a complete fleet renewal program based around Airbus A319s – as a result of this order Germania will become a new Airbus operator.
Deliveries of the first new aircraft will start already next year in 2011.
Germania, which has previously operated a fleet of Fokker 100/70 and various models of the Boeing 737 will fly the new A319s to their 30 destinations in Europe, around the Mediterranean region, the Middle East and domestic routes within Germany.
Germania has chosen a single class cabin layout for 150 passengers – the cabin will be equipped with the latest entertainment systems – video screens and in-seat audio channels.
With the eco-efficient A319s and reducing of its aircraft type to just one model over time, we will provide an important contribution to reducing the impact on environment and simultaneously cut operating costs enormously.
