German central bank executive ‘Thilo Sarrazin’ lifts a rock – only to drop it on his own feet – ‘Man-overboard’ policy expected from SPD and Bundesbank – ‘OTA-Berlin Constituency Blog’ commentary

German central bank executive Thilo Sarrazin  lifts a rock – only to drop it on his own feet!

German central bank executive Thilo Sarrazin, a member [at this writing – for the time being- but after this probably not for very much longer] of the German Social Democratic SPD Party  courted fresh controversy this weekend with discriminatory ‘racial-profiling’  and remarks concerning religious minorities.

Sarrazin, who is promoting his new book “Deutschland schafft sich ab” – which could be roughly translated as  ‘Germany throws in the towel’ – has now expanded a previous controversy in which he insinuated that many Moslem and Turkish immigrants were free-loading off of German society and were holding it back.

These blanket right-wing generalizations  are an important part of the ‘lingua-franca’ being used by other loser  European polititians like the cunning and equally distastefull Dutch populist loser, Wilders.

He is now expanding on these blatantly odious views by expressing the idea that all Jews ….’share a particular gene’ – ‘that makes them different from other peoples’.

It seems that Mr Sarrazin has all the marks of an uneducated and stupid person that certainly make him different from most other people.

There have been both  calls for his resignation from the board of the Bundesbank along with his removal from the SPD party itself – probably the later will occur before the former  because banks take forever to make decisions.

It will be interesting to see how quickly people disassociate themselves from this philistine bonehead – it will be more a question of when rather than if - there already seems to be a policy of ‘man-overboard-yesterday-already’  at the SPD

No, he is simply observing what researchers have known for some time – that human populations vary in behavioural and cognitive traits. So assuming that immigrants will all assimilate or contribute equally is based on a creationist belief system. In reality there are average differences due to divergent evolution.

While it may be true, to a lesser degree then you suggest however, that immigrants assimilate and contribute to various and differing degrees in their new host countries, this has nothing to do with the present innuendo which Sarrazin has embroiled himself into.
Many of the American Nobel prize winners of the last decades have been immigrants from Asian countries – assimilation works differently in different epochs and works differently in various countries.
Obviously well-educated immigrants will perform higher on most ‘assimilation ‘scales than those with less education – who often do not even speak and write their own languages well never mind learning a new one.
After a generation these differences disappear – in an open, dynamic and thriving economy this equals itself out -and that is what is now happening in Germany.
Societies need scapegoats for their own inadequacies – if there were no Turks or Jews to focus on then it would be the ‘former DDR citizens who are lazy’, or the atheists or some other group that one could marginalize.
Sarrazins comments are not being made in a vacuum –look at the other bonehead rightwing politicians who make equally divisive and nonsensical comments about immigrants.
These comments divide the population in Germany and do not ameliorate or move society forward, and he should be completely and thoroughly shamed for so doing.
It is kind to call him dull-witted and stupid because otherwise the only other likely conclusion we could make is that he is a true Nazi type racist – which he is not.

He didn’t say that. He pointed out that Jews and Basques are groups that have genes that make them distinct from other people. He further stated that Jewish genes are one factor that make them more intelligent than other people.

Which happens to be true. I’m Jewish by the way so don’t call me anti-Semitic. Facts are facts. About half the great German scientists before WWII were Jewish. Think this happened by accident?

Thilo Sarrazin didn’t say anything that Jews don’t say behind closed doors.

    This is really quite humorous.

First of all, no one is argueing that there are not obvious visible differences between lets say people from North Europe and Somalia. Everyone knows this and can see this.

The point is that these are only visual and not important differences – they are peripheral differences not profound ones.

There are no recognizable differences between races of any major
importance – they are and remain equal.

The problem arises when we extrapolate this to the mental or emotional level and this is what the Nazi eugenics did.

Last time we checked many Science Nobel prize winners from the US were from either direct immigrants to the US from Asia or decendents thereof.

And why praytell may that be?

Nobel prize Lauriats are not gentically determined – they will tell you this themselves if you care to investigate and read their biographies – their achievements come through hard and arduous work, years of intensive research and yes also years of failure.

What caused a plethora of Jewish Nobel prize winners in the 30’s and 40’s is that these people were driven and highly motivated and they had the external conditions –European Univerisities -in which they could practice their science.

Take away either of these factors and you will not produce great Nobel laureates. That they happened to be of the Jewish tribe or faith, was pure chance – that they worked hard and used their abilities to a maximum in a favourable environment – this was the determining factor.

Are you ready to accept a ‘motivational’ gene also? What utter un-scientific garbage.

It is quite laughable to suggest you are somehow more intelligent than other people because you are ‘Jewish’. Are you suggesting that the stupid ‘Fuhrer’ got it only partially wrong and that it is in fact the Jews who are the master race – and not the aryan Teutons? More garbagae and rubbish!

Many former and present famous world chess champions are and have been Jewish – but that is also slowly changing.

Previously women were said to be not capable of competing with men in chess because they were also ‘genetically’ inferior on the logic front. More rubbish. – woman are proving just as capable to beat men at chess inspite of all the so-called ‘genetic’ facts that say they are mentally inferior to men – more rubbish.

Jews can be extremely proud of their great achievements in science over the last century – however these great thinkers, these great minds would be the first to distance themselves from any theory which would make them unique and want to exclude others. Their achievements came on the backs of many who came before them, from all nationalities – science is in this way universal and does not recognize geographical, political or religious boundaries. If it is good science and it works it is welcome.

Wow, this article isn’t at all biased! Thilo exposed the elephant in the room – it’s not going to go away until a reasonable immigration policy is put in place. More than likely, that will include deportations.
