Club de Visionäre: Metropoliton, Hip and Chilling in Berlin…
Typically when you think of a club in Berlin, an image of a mother duck nestling her ducklings along is NOT what flashes through your head. Club der Visionäre is one of the most peaceful, laid back spots in Berlin despite being one of the ‘In Clubs’ of the moment.
Sitting on a dock on the Spree is soothing at any time of day or night. With a low-entry fee policy (€1 – €2) it attracts poor locals from Friedrichshain, yet at the same time even those who can afford entry fees love it.
Like many Berlin establishments, the eclectic guests blend harmoniously under techno music. The dance floor is rather small so it is not recommended as a place to go to to dance.
However, for those who are rejected from the nearby and very trendy Kater Holzig, Berghain and Wilde Renate and there are always quite a few who are, it is a wonderful alternative and a sure bet for entry. Not until around 9 p.m. does a doorman appear to prevent guests from bringing in their own drinks.
It’s very easy to meet people here and the crowd is especially friendly – something for which Berlin and its inhabitants are not known. Perhaps its the rocking motion of the dock on the water, the laid-back electro or the sound of the birds… whatever it is, it works.
