Swedish Tourists love Berlin!!

Thanks OTA-Berlin for a wonderful little vacation in a sunny and very interesting Berlin!

The apartment we stayed in (a fantastic, newly renovated 3 bedroom apartment) was located on Metzerstrasse, a quiet and nice area close to a U-Bahn station, only 2 stops from Alexander square and thus very good accessibility to all the interesting sights.

Dutch prefer Germany to France and Spain as holiday destination – again!

Since 2007 Germany has surpassed France as the most popular holiday destination for Dutch tourists, other than their own country, and it did so again last year.

According to figures published by the state-owned ‘German National Tourist Board, Dutch toursists stayed over 10 million nights in Germany in 2010 – that being an  increase of nearly 6% over 2009.

Air Berlin disclosed today that it managed to increase its 2010 cumulative passenger boardings, carrying circa 34 million airline passengers – an increase of almost 4% over 2009 -so a good year for Germany’s 2nd largest aviation company after state controlled Lufthansa.

Als Berliner ist schon einige Jahre eine Besonderheit zu Weihnachten Schnee zu haben, vor allem wird den Kindern immer noch viel von weisser Weihnacht erzählt.

Dieses Jahr gab es schon sehr lange Schnee, doch an Heiligabend war es morgens auf einmal sehr warm, die Fußgängerwege waren frei und der restliche Schnee war grau statt weiß.
