In Berlin 20, 000 demonstrators demand German government respect consumers, animals and farmers!!!!!

Twenty thousand people demonstrated in central Berlin today to demand their government change the agriculture industry and protect consumers from the ‘out-of-control’ food producers.

 The demonstration was organized in ‘International Green Week’ the yearly agricultural exhibition in Berlin.

Motto for the protest read – “We’ve had enough – no to genetic engineering, factory farming and export dumping!!”

German Dioxin threat not going away anytime soon – over 900 more farms forced to close – Germany agrees to enforce higher standards in animal feed production

Some weeks ago  German government food inspectors uncovered excessively high levels of the cancer-causing substance ‘dioxin’ in some poutlry products and eggs, which were later traced to an animal feed company.

The chemical – traced back to company Harles and Jentzsch, which  supplyed up to 3,000 tons of ‘fatty- acids’ which had been sold for  industrial use and ended up instead as animal feed.
