Frederik the Great’, aka Friedrich der Große is justifiably almost synonymous with Berlin – he created his great palace with the baroque gardens ‘Sanssouci’ [no worries!] in Potsdam just outside Berlin.

The picture above shows the 17 meter-high steel monument by night – illuminated by internal neon lights along its wavy silhouette on the corner of the Wilhelmstraße and the ‘An der Kolonnade’ in Berlin-Mitte. It stands proudly, defiantly and fittingly right in front of the old Hitlerite ‘Neue Reichskanzlei’.
