Continue Reading…

Berlin play Bayer Leverkusen today away and it will be another match then MUST win to avoid relegation. We will report about Hertha later in the week on this blog however ‘the talk of the town’ including Berlin is how all football fans and the Bundesliga are obsessed with the Bayern München vs. Borussia Dortmund rivalry.
Did Bayern just lose the game – [...] Continue Reading…

Continue Reading…

Ostensibly because of the controversy over the poem “What must be said” critical of Israel by the German Nobel laureate Guenter Grass, the US novelist Dave Eggers will stay away from today’s award ceremony at Bremen’s City Hall, where he should have been awarded the “Albatross” Literature Prize of the Günter Grass Foundation in Bremen.
His novel, “Zeitoun”, was considered by the Günter [...] Continue Reading…

Last Wednesday 84 year old German author and Nobel laureate Günter Grass wrote in a poem called “What must be said” that the present regime in Israel is a threat to world peace.http://www.ota-berlin.de/blog/04/04/gunter-grass-speaks-out-atommach-israel-gefahr-fur-den-weltfrieden-israel-a-danger-to-world-peace-what-must-be-said-commentary-by-ota-berlin-constituency-blog-contributor-mr-emil/

Todays are political in nature – because it has been a highly political Easter this year!
Found this on the outside of some scaffolding on a building which is being renovated on Choriner Straße between Schwedter and Zionskirchstraße in Berlin Mitte.
“Horst Wessel du Nazi Schwein!” has got to be hit and winner – this is progressive grafitti.
This whole area was called not Berlin [...] Continue Reading…

Hertha needs to start filling its stadium – the Olympic Stadium of Berlin however it seems to doing everything possible to hinder that happening. It is one of the largest football stadiums in Germany where the World Cup final was held in 2006 and can seat up to 75,000 football fans.
Yes they are back to their old ways – Hertha losing ways . [...] Continue Reading…
