The Bundesliga Season opened after its winter pause with  a loss for league leaders Bayern and 11th place Hertha Berlin, and a win for Schalke today over Stutgart 3-1.

According to media reports this evening Hertha Berlin coach Markus Babbel has confirmed recent rumors that he will in fact leave the club but is hopeful he can see out his contract to the end of the 2011//2012 season.

Ralf Rangnick has resigned as head coach of German Bundesliga club Schalke 04 earlier today citing health reasons.

Hertha Berlin beat Stuttgart on Friday, ending their embarrassing and dismal 17 winless home games in the Bundesliga.
