Jos Luhukay was presented as Hertha Berlin’s new coach yesterday and he is planning his now 2nd division team after the Hertha’s appeal against relegation from the Bundesliga was rightfully rejected.
Luhukay will be Otto Rehhagel’s successor and the 48-year-old Dutchman urged Hertha FC and its supporters to not delve in the past but to look at getting back into the Bundesliga first [...] Continue Reading…

The above picture of an empty Berlin Olympic Stadium – home of Hertha Berlin Football Club will probably look this empty next year because the team is now offically relegated down a league from the German top Bundesliga.
The appeal of Hertha FC to the DFB has not been successful and hence is now offically in the German 2nd division. They did not deserve to [...] Continue Reading…

“Hertha needs to start filling its stadium – the Olympic Stadium of Berlin” is what I wrote some months ago, however the picture you see above of a wonderful stadium is empty and will remain so at least to now 2nd division German team Hertha Berlin.
Fortuna Düsseldorf secured their place in the First Bundesliga and thereby consigned Hertha Berlin to the 2nd [...] Continue Reading…

Berlin play Bayer Leverkusen today away and it will be another match then MUST win to avoid relegation. We will report about Hertha later in the week on this blog however ‘the talk of the town’ including Berlin is how all football fans and the Bundesliga are obsessed with the Bayern München vs. Borussia Dortmund rivalry.

Hertha needs to start filling its stadium – the Olympic Stadium of Berlin however it seems to doing everything possible to hinder that happening. It is one of the largest football stadiums in Germany where the World Cup final was held in 2006 and can seat up to 75,000 football fans.

Ben-Hatira , with Tunisian parents, was born in Berlin in 1988 and started his football career playing for local youth clubs eventually ending up at Hertha BSC.
Otto Rehhagel presented a different team which lost to Bayern Munich last week in a painful 0-6 drubbing.
Brought into the team was Ben-Hatira, Lell moved from midfield to right back to replace and Kobiashvili was deposited [...] Continue Reading…

Bayern München ‘cleaned the clock’ of sinking-quickly Hertha Berlin in the German capital yesterday evening, out-playing the Berliners in all aspects of the game winning 0-6.
This after earlier in the last week having won 7-1 against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last weekend and then winning 7-0 against Swiss Basel FC in the Champions league in the middle of the week.
Hertha Berlin, seemingly [...] Continue Reading…

Hertha Berlin was able to celebrate just a little yesterday after their home win, and actually obtain some highly needed points – the first with newly appointed coach Otto Rehhagel.
The 3 points are the first from this year and hopefully will be the first of many such wins – or even ties will do – in order to avoid relegation again next [...] Continue Reading…

Newly appointed Hertha coach Otto Rehhagel did not have an auspicious beginning in his new trainer’s job losing to lowly Augsburg, themselves candidates for relegation 3-0 on Saturday.
While giving due credit to FC Augsburg whom he said fought like lions, he made it clear that very basic tactical changes need to be made – it is clear that Hertha is not Barcelona [...] Continue Reading…
