About the communal areas

Shared bathrooms

Each floor has several toilets and bathrooms with a shower and a hairdryer.

Soap and shampoo are provided. Please do not leave any toiletries, skincare products or make-up in the bathrooms. Items that are not obviously of high value will be disposed of during the daily cleaning.

How do I get to the kitchen?

The kitchen, the lounge and the "library" are freely accessible during reception opening hours (10:00–18:00). Outside these hours, you will need the code that you were given at check-in. You enter this code by pushing the little buttons on the door handle.

Rules for the kitchen

Please always leave the kitchen tidy.

Dishes should be placed in the dishwasher after use and rubbish disposed of. If you washed up by hand, please dry the dishes straight away and put them away. This way, the kitchen remains inviting for all guests.

NOTE: For hygiene and fire safety reasons it is only allowed to store food in the fridge. Food found outside the fridge will be discarded.

Fridge

The refrigerators contain boxes labelled with the room numbers. Food may only be stored in the refrigerator and in these boxes. If the box is insufficient, food may also be stored in the refrigerator doors. This food must be clearly labelled with the room number (markers & stickers are provided). There are also "free for all" shelves in the fridges where unopened food items can be left for other guests after check-out.

Coffee, tea and spices

In the kitchen, you’ll find tea bags (several varieties), ground coffee and coffee filters, as well as a basket with instant coffee, salt & pepper, etc. Please feel free to help yourself—it's free of charge.

Waste disposal

There are two bins in the kitchen where all waste can be disposed of. Please place recyclable bottles & cans next to the bins.

NOTE: In Germany, a recycling deposit is added to the price of all drink bottles and cans (excluding wines and spirits). You can get this deposit back via voucher if you take them to the bottle return machine at the nearest supermarket (usually 25 cents for plastic & aluminium and 8–15 cents for glass bottles).
